031310 Taking Care Of Myself

house of books is close today
there's a big sign but i can't see
i'm two hundred yards away
parking lot is all empty, except
a red bicycle tied to pine tree
tires, handle bar taken away

so i went to barnes and nobles
to relax and read some letters
i run fingers on newly arrive books
pondering if i'm going to buy or nope
dream surfaces, i would be writer too
pretty soon, maybe, i have a few

smell of cookies and coffee filling air
on the west wing, section for self-care
that has a good ring to it, i would try
two macadamia cookies and a pie
hot chocolate that will lift my soul
i would be ever-ready till bells toll
