027. Awaiting Poem by Dipankar Sadhukhan

027. Awaiting

Rating: 5.0

Twilight passed and evening came
But I am alone,
Sitting on the river bank.
Only the lonely moon gazes at me
Silently from the farthest east sky.

My soul and heart cry
But I don't know why...
I try to soothe them in vain.
I perceive my heart missing someone
And my soul searching something.

My tender heart summons her
To get back again,
As the thirsty earth longs for
The showers of rain,
As the buds yearn for dew to bloom.

My soul aspires again
To enjoy the ecstasy of her Love.
But does she want to come back?
I don't know...
I know only- now she is far away.

Yet I am on the river bank,
Sitting alone in the silent evening
And awaiting her,
If she returns and embraces me again
In the full moon.
