You know when you meet them,
they’re going to take you somewhere
you didn’t know was there so
couldn’t know you wanted for them
to take you there

there being a there to where
he has a secret key which opens
a connecting door between
nowhere and somewhere
and anywhere and everywhere

nowhere being a little scary
to be there but then with him it’s
somewhere which is an interesting
where to be and when
you’re there with him he unlocks
anywhere and you look around
and it’s all new and now you look
why look it’s everywhere

and everywhere is new and strange
and you’re living a new life where
what you thought was the ordinary where
full of nothings and anythings and
not worth a passing thought
is everything
and now you have to look again

and it would be scary if he hadn’t shown you
how it all connects and how
the pinned-up sleeve of the one-armed boy
is there to tell you about everywhere
