حتَّى مَتَى تَصْبُو وَرَأْسُكَ أشْمَطُ


حتَّى مَتَى تَصْبُو وَرَأْسُكَ أشْمَطُ ............................ أحَسِبْتَ أنَّ المَوْتَ فِي اسْمِك يغلَطُ
أمْ لَستَ تْحسَبُهُ عَلَيكَ مُسلَّطاً، ....................................... وَبَلى ، وَرَبِّكَ، إنّهُ لمُسَلَّطُ
وَلَقَدْ رَأيتُ المَوْتَ يَفْرِسُ، تارَة ً،.................................. جُثَثَ المُلوكِ وتارَة ً يتَخَبَّطُ
فتآلَفِ الخُلاَّنِ مفتقِداً لَهُمْ .......................................... .. سَتَشِطّ عَمّنْ تَألفَنّ، وَتَشَحطُ
وكأنّني بكَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَاهي القُوَى ، ................................... نِصْواً، تَقَلَّصُ بَينَهُمْ وتَبَسَّطُ
وكأنّني بِكَ بَينَهُمْ خَفِقَ الحَشَا، ..................................... بالموتِ فِي غَمَرَاتهِ يتشَحَّطُ
وكأنّني بكَ في قَميصٍ مُدْرَجاً،..................................... في رَيطَتَينِ مُلَفَّفٌ، وَمُخَيط
لاَ ريطَتَيْنِ كريطَتَيْ متنسِّمٍ ..................................رُوحَ الحَياة ِ، وَلا القَميصُ مُخَيَّطُ
