my best friend, the center, of this bound pain

Scarred heart
Burnt heart
Hollow heart
Rid of all promises,

I watch as you walk coldly by
Ice radiates off your posture
The tilt of your shoulder increases
My heart drops to the floor

There is a demon in the center of my chest
scratching it's way out, flying its nest
the darkness engulfs my heart and soul
tearing through the walls, breaking a hole

the night is, my love, is my time to shine
the darkness, my cloak, as to others of my kind
no one there to judge, condemn, to scream
a time to be me, no fault by others to be seen

Opening the door, my heart in my throat
