Silenced ears amid screeching noise
The desire not to hear
But no fulfillment to be found
If a choice could be had
...

He is the predator
I am the prey
In this little game we play
...

What is the coldest place in world?
Some say the artic
Others say the bottom of the ocean
But let me tell you from experience

You said you’d never leave me
You promised to be there
So just where have you gone
You’ve vanished into thin air
...

What do you know of my life?
Why do you think you’d understand?
Is it because you’re smart and thoughtful?
Or maybe because you’re always there?

For the country girl of mountains far
Heaven met earth and agreed to switch places
If only for awhile
And the sky above was now a sea of grey and black

Silenced Ears

Silenced ears amid screeching noise
The desire not to hear
But no fulfillment to be found
If a choice could be had
This would not be the answer
And the consciousness knows no relief
Relief from noise
Release from sound
All silence departed from this place
This place of screeching noise
Send me quiet
Send me peace
Send me these things or else I may break
My silent heart longs for the silence of stars
The muted echoes of the moon
The stillness of the spaces in between
But these things are not near
They are out of my reach
For my arms are shortened
Shortened by the screaming
The shouting
The screeching noise
And my silenced ears have no respite
