niroda abboud Poems

1.

I spy with my little eye
One world, one lie
I spy, with my little eye
A world about to die
...

And the band starts playing
The same old song again
The monks start praying
To the same God again
...

3.

you called me crazy
I think you're right
my mind seems hazy
like the moonlight
...

young man, Take care
you live an Age
where the priest is a mage
turned God into a son
...

Give me the reason
And I will follow
Show me the dream
To which to wake
...

The full moon tonight
Sheds crazy shadows into my sight
Plays games with the dark and the light
Blows my mind into flight
...

Love me, Hate me
But dont you hurt me
Touch me, Sooth my pain
I'm contagiously insane
...

Can't even count to ten
I reach seven then start again
Which came first, the egg or the hen
I've reached seven, now Ill start again
...

I saw the first star of tonight
slowely step into her place
an early sleeper
her bed inviting and warm
...

I Spy

I spy with my little eye
One world, one lie
I spy, with my little eye
A world about to die

A sigh of relief from God
Tired of watching these menacing lots
writing the rules, then changing the rules
writing the rules then changing the rules

do they think we are fools?

I think we are fools.

What happened to the heroes
or were they ever there
where are all the knights
or are they all too scared

Superman where are you
come and save the day
the world is about to die
the American way

But do we really care
do we really dare
to look hard,
not blankly stare

and spy with our little eyes,
a world built on lies
and spy with with our little eyes
a lie about to die!
