Forever Cold

Lying dormant on the floor
My brain sloshed from the night before
Feeling a change in the atmosphere
As i hear a faint creaking from the other room
I become aware of something coming through my front door

Slowly, quietly i lift my head from the wet ground
Open my crusted shut eyes to look around
I catch sight of a ghostly shadow floating across my wall
The fear of present danger bids me to be quiet
Stumbling i get up and start to walk around

I clumly tiptoe to the kitchen constantly looking behind me
Abruptly, my hangover kicks in and my head buzzes like a bee
I fall into the kitchen sink and start to heave
Realizing the ruckus i'm making i quickly look around
I see a shattered beer bottle right next to me

Picking Up a piece of glass from off the counter
Anticipating the moment when me and the stranger encounter
Stumbling around the house to find this late night intruder
I walk into my library where i saw it wander into
I see this lady sitting there, back turned, i walk behind her

I looked down, it was my wife to my surprise
So i outstretched my hand, but that was unwise
She unexpectedly turned towards me, her face contorted into a demon
I jabbed the glass into her temple, as she collapsed with warm blood running down her head
I staggered back, dropped the glass, and a bright light flashed before my eyes

All of a sudden i woke up
As i got up, i stumbled and i caught on that i was still pretty shaken up
Then i realized that this is deja vu
That i woke up in the same spot i woke up before
Then i got the picture killing my wife was a dream i made up

So i took off my clothes and got into the shower
The water that flowed over me had magical powers
It woke me up, and reminded me i need to go check on my wife
I got out, and got dressed
Not noticing it began to thunder shower

I walked through the house calling her name
I heard no response, so i shouted "this isn't a game"
I finally made it to the library to see a faint glow from the fireplace
Then lightning flashed and illuminating the room, revealing my wife lying on the floor
Her neck carved open like a pumpkin
Surrounded by a big pool of dark red blood
I murmured "it was no dream" then darkness overcame
