The Great Dance

We danced and we sang,
All through the night.
You filled me with wonder,
And then you disappeared from sight.

You made gave me life,
You made me smile.
But now you are gone
I wish you had stayed awhile.

The further you went,
The colder I became.
Nothing left here,
But a spark when I hear your name.

You warm someone else now,
Somewhere far, far away.
No I can only wonder,
If you turn his cold night into day.

All I can see now,
Is your dim shine in the distance.
So far away from me,
I don't even stand a chance.


Now I wonder alone,
With no one to keep me warm.
Never had I imagined,
That I would be alone in the oncoming storm.

But for ages I will fly,
Until another star comes by.
Holding me in its embrace,
Dancing with such beauty and grace.

My one star is out there,
Dancing with the wrong one.
I will find it, I swear on this,
Once my lonely walk is done.
