Morgan Balanaser Poems

Two strangers
I have not previously seen
Cause me as much joy in this world, as I've felt
By causing joy to one another
...

My head is too hard
My heart too soft
My will too flexible
...

An endless loop, of pain and sorrow
It keeps returning to me
I cannot stay
I cannot go
...

A heart yearns, for romance,
for love, for passion, for companionship.

A head knows, that dream is just a dream,
...

Are these the drums of death I hear?
Spelling the doom of Democracy

Free speech infringed for pronouns, and offence.
...

When pressure strains your mind and body both

And nerves tingle with sensitivity
...

The past is dark, and ugly.
For this is how we learn
Not one of us is free of ancestors
Who did another burn
...

Sitting in a waiting room, or
walking through a thrift store
I'm sometimes frozen by anxiety at the thought
That these others around me would have opposed me being in here mask-free a few short years ago
...

Why did you betray me --?
Why did you turn on - a friend?
Not a day goes by that I do not feel the loss -
the loss of the friendship that could be.
...

When things look grim
And it seems your on the point of no win
Do not review what could have been
Look around upon the ground
...

This is the type of thing that It was stopping.
This is the type of thing that it was blocking.
Emotion cut out emotion.
The hate cancelled out the love.
