How can life be in there?

The Calico Cat
Sits in my lap,
Enjoying the soft, nice strokes.

Sometimes I wondered,
Why I was put on thsi Earth.
It seems I only blundered,
Why? What was it worth?

Sitting here, holding your hand,
Under the old Willow tree.
Gnarly branches, its trunk so grand,
I feel so happy and free.
...

You are always there,
Standing by my side.
For all the thoughts we share,
Our arms are open wide.
...

No sees the tears.
No one sees the pain.
And even if they do,
They just walk away.
...

This is a duet song.

(Girl)
I see you walking in front of me,

A Chicken's Rights

A small heart beats
Within the tiny egg.
How can life be in there?
In such a small way?

A mother hen awaits,
Her little chicks birth.
Sitting in a warm dry nest,
She clucks softly and chirps.

A large crack appears,
On the eggshells smooth surface.
The chick greets the new world,
Feathers fluffing all out.

He stumbles and he peeps.
Looking at you with his curious eye.
He follows his mom closely,
Careful not to stray far from ehr side.

He will soon grow up,
Be a strong smart chicken.
But maybe he will be killed,
To be plucked and eaten.

How could we kill,
Such a young, cute chick?
So loyal and trusting,
We're just sick.
