We are told to look past the surface in writing
To look at the deeper meaning of a sentence, or action
But what if you saw everything like this, and were forced to think deeply about it all
No one imagines the curse this is throughout a day
...

A man wanders aimlessly through the woods on a crooked path
Lantern in hand to light the way, rain pouring down to drown out the clarity
Every so often he sees another, another wanderer
Some big some small, but none like him
...

Through the years of adolescence there is enough of an affliction in our lives from our superiors of stress and expectations
Judgments is the last thing we need
He is ashamed to look at his own reflection
Feeling ashamed was created for those who committed a crime, but this innocent boy has done nothing at all

We put on a mask around people we are most comfortable with
When a day falls gray, we sprinkle faulty sunshine onto our eyes to blind us from the darkness in front of us
But as we continue to linger with this friendly person, our mask does not get lifted upwards off of us, but sinks further down past our face and into our minds giving us false hope that the world is pleasing, accepting, and kind
This short time is glorious and magnificent, but it has not destroyed the sadness rather buried it so it may rise again fiercer and more ruthless

We are told to look past the surface in writing
To look at the deeper meaning of a sentence, or action
But what if you saw everything like this, and were forced to think deeply about it all
No one imagines the curse this is throughout a day
Imagine hearing something, someone, watching something, someone, and thousands of meanings are created
There is no such thing as a simple walk, or simple conversation
We cannot sit back and just watch the world go by
We cannot take a walk and smell the roses
We cannot have a peaceful conversation with someone we love
We cannot express ourselves with an action
We cannot simply show love
We cannot simply say, “I love you”
We cannot simply do anything in our lives
We are trapped in this mindset forcing us never to see anything in black and white, but everything like a Picasso painting
We must see everything there is to see in one short glance, and one long thought
Constantly we are at work, in desperate need of a vacation from a job we never even signed up for
There is no off switch
There is no reset
No do-overs
We simply must live
