Dreams Of Dust

Clouds of dust obscures our vision,
in the moonshine our thoughts no longer elude;
green trees have become but distant tales,
and rains no longer soothe.

Pillars of concrete piercing the sky,
in abundance and playgrounds so less,
the golden disc sublimes noble virtues,
in wars mankind seek solace.

Underneath the skies of desolation
the human heart has gone cold and sore.
Forging machines and weapons of enormous size,
has devoured the earth to the core.

Tranquility has got no existance,
peace is just another word with meaning lost.
Minds filled with hatred to the brink
the poisoned veins of anarchy have spread like icy frost.

Nature is barred to the vicinity of four walls,
from birth, a soldier in battle lust.
A child sans childhood has no dreams,
save the dreams of dust.

The books depict a brown sphere heaving,
for the weight of greed is a burden too heavy.
Greed for coloured papers, greed for gold,
in persuit of which has made man ungodly.

Death, destruction, devastation roams free all around,
hastening the countdown to extinction.
Yet blinded are we to see the inevitable,
approaching us are the howling winds of purgation.

Blame human or human race?
Our existance rests on the fragile earth.
Lets dive deep into the depths of soul, and squeeze out hatred,
excavate the ruins of love and fellowship,
join hands and cleanse the collateral dirt.

The brown sphere now blue in books,
a child born now shall see green trees,
weapons dismantled by bonds of faternity,
and war will exist only in pages of history.

In sleep so peaceful, a child shall dream,
unaware of atrocites of past.
Dreams so vibrant, dreams so innocent,
shall replace the dreams of dust.
