  • POET: Sero Juan Zerowe (7/24/2014 9:13:00 PM)

One of the best member poets on Poem Hunter (as far as I have read) , Allan Gerard could be a voice to watch out for in future. He has all the basic tools and arsenals to make his poems dart deep into the reader's heart. His poetry evokes mystery, suspense and wonder and he deftly takes you into hitherto undiscovered terrains in your subconscious. His versatility is happily matched by his success in finding his own unique voice. If this voice can be further chiselled by aligning it to the present day zeit geist (historical sense is very important for a poet!) and through dialogue / collaboration with other leading voices of the present epoch, then Allan Gerard (Ed-Nigma as he calls himself) can evolve into a formidable voice. Ya....Ha Ha.

Valsa is a retired Professor of English Literature while the husband is a banker turned legal professional. The couple live in blissful coexistence with nature in their cute little home in God's Country. The Poet has a serene, thoughtful personality - as opposed to my own restless, boisterous nature. So I did most of the talking. We spoke about life in Kerala, rapid urbanisation, problems of farmers, understatement in poetry, need for poets to get together more, my own experiments with various poetry clubs and nature clubs...and the pet love birds the couple had a few years ago.... Valsa uses words in a measured way, is never hurried in her thought, and expresses her thoughts after a brief poignant moment's reflection. I wish the poet a blissful journey ahead in the company of her soulmate, and in the company of the Words she has such an abiding passion for....
