Mel Mack Poems

Awaiting by the window my love you know the picture window
the rain drizzles down; I trace them with my finger tips
I lose the touch when the dropp becomes a line
I trace the dropp and how I wish it were your lips
...

On this cold wind filled night my mind taken by change
Just cry cry cry till the sun gave the ongoing world light
Caring not my soul was turned and mangled
My heart ripped at the seams and knotted, tangled
...

The great wall was open for attack
Empty promises filled with worse intentions
Caught me off guard while my swords were down
While I bathed in light once when a smile took over a frown
...

His eyes burned with flames of fire
Not out of anger or hatred but for longing and desire
He unwilling loves and pays a heavy price
So he hinds all feelings for if he comes out from the shadows
...

She tries to feel sympathy for the boy who cries
Looking deep into his eyes
She wants to comfort him and say it is alright
Most likely though it is not alright

I Will

Awaiting by the window my love you know the picture window
the rain drizzles down; I trace them with my finger tips
I lose the touch when the dropp becomes a line
I trace the dropp and how I wish it were your lips
I used to do that, you remember
How I'd try to memorize your face
The perfect outline is in my mind, but it is not you
it is just what I've once traced

I miss you my dear why did you have to go?
It breaks my heart being so far apart
I wonder a lot if you think about me
Do you think about me?
Have you too found reminders of me?
Like the rain drops I have found
Or are you no longer in this am I the only one who is bound
Am I bound?

No my love, oh no if you are bound I am bound
But we are not for our love is free
Like the wind runs wild through the tattered trees
The pieces of my heart belong to you.
Know that love for it is true
I may not be there with you now
But someday soon I'll be by your side
And comfort you for all the tears it saddens me to know you've cried

And I do my sweetheart think about you
Of every moment of everyday
And it pains me you wonder this way
I know I'm gone and no longer able to hold you in my arms
Instead I hold metal that does not comfort
But I'll come back one day you'll see
And that day I will get down on my knee

I must stop writing my dear for the guns have gone off
Don't fret I'll make it through these battles I will
I will
Will I?
