Meghan Poems

generosity from your body has been drained
the honey sucked from a flower after an early morning rain
hath been replaced by a vile and putrid juice
when I look at you, I see a depserate life pleading for truce
...

a dead flower
a frown
hazy clouds and smoke
all things so beautiful to me
...

drooping willow trees, along a cold, lonely creek
praying to the river to not wash it's foundation, it's sweet soil away
to take from it's roots' grasp will fall deep down in the water to lay
sleeping in rot in the fast flowing grave
...

I know if I put it that way
I would lose you
the way it is now
gives a little and takes a little
...

5.

the night descends unto me like the devil on a helpless soul
I feel it coming, slowly turning my blood cold
gripping it's claws tight round my body
never setting me free
...

scauleded by the burning light of the sun,
covering charred pupils with my hands,
the flesh has disintegrated and now melted,
falls dripping in a puddle on the tile floor.
...

You'll never see how beautiful you truly are
all you see are the cuts, bruises and scars
you don't deserve what has been done
hate and hurt has left you numb
...

the silence hangs like leaden clouds
echoing down every hall
caging my mind
ricocheting throughout my head
...

the silence hangs like lead on my mind
shackling my thoughts
consuming the process
of idea to action
...

the burning embers inside lay creeping
love in my heart is surely sleeping
shunned by a harsh and distant sorrow
will find it's way in another tomorrow
...

I'm wanting to start remembering my days
fitting together pieces of the night before
fractions and remnants on the bedroom floor
without the clearest thought, there's nothing to sustain creation
...

4 am
weeping. slow and heavy
...

the sky darkening round me
the birds descending to the trees
children home in their beds to sleep
shadows gather in the street
...

lying snowbling in the grass, reaching for the golden orb
wrapped in clouds amongst a sea of blue it's stored
shining brighter and hotter than Earth's magma core
recalling tales of that celestial dream, forever wanting more
...

do you relish in the burning heat?
in the fire's strongest, most powerful fleet?
in the unrelenting smell of singed hair?
in the hazy smoke thickened air?
...

take my hand and I will tell you a story
set your weary head on my lap
and lay your bones by my feet...
...

I roamed the gravel road
and the wooden sidewalks
shoeless
dancing in the park
...

18.

As a child
I would lay
in the August sun
on blades of grass
...

these four walls make me antsy
the heat creeps down my throat
outside the cool calm night
entices my brain's refuge
...

once when I was a child
the world was full of wonder
the environment was vibrant
and every soul inspired

generosity from your body has been drained
the honey sucked from a flower after an early morning rain
hath been replaced by a vile and putrid juice
when I look at you, I see a depserate life pleading for truce
thoughts now in days, don't come from your own mind
only to be found in metamorphic crystal and leaf combined
precious integrity and sweet honesty locked away and confined
when I look into your eyes, I see a rotting brain and a million flies
you're touching on the abyss, flirting with that line
down some black hole, into a void it winds
find the will to understand and truth will reveal itself in time
