Megan Colligan Poems

Chasing a road of no destination
I can fathom my flaiting dream
tracing amnesia
through thick and thin seams
...

I hate you

I hate you so much it hurts
...

Everything has a sound

Silence's is golden
...

'I'll tell you a secret, ' said a man one day
'I'll tell you a secret, that will take your breath away...'
Eagerly I leaned in, spellbound like a moth to a flame
'We live in a box, ' he said
...

So take me by the hand
And teach me to understand
The depths of you, the deepest parts of you
Your battle scars, your bruises black and blue
...

I wonder if you'd let me
glimpse into you,
of vanity and of clothes
lost and found in watery depths,
...

The Road Trip

Chasing a road of no destination
I can fathom my flaiting dream
tracing amnesia
through thick and thin seams

Driving to a junction
and reeling in a fast lane
I am turning round a familiar corner
reliving through my pain

Now that I'm crossing a speed bump
I can't help but look back
to a section that is dilapidated
and was courted by a speed trap

Ignoring the dogleg of salvation
my life is at a truck stop
silhouetted by a heavy burden
one that will never stop
