The cause of my confusion
I am merely acknowledging
The effects of your closeness
Your distance and
Your occasional affection
My mind is failing
To can make sense
Of the current situation
And my heart fails
To can accept it
You set my heart ablaze
With every poetic word
With every lyric of
The songs you sing to me
With every piano chord you play
To make my heart smile
My wish remains to extinguish
