Catch And Release

Catch and Release

Waders braced, thigh high in strong current
A camouflaged interrupter of natures flow
The choragus swish of the Cane befriends the sounds
Ancient illaqueation of Fintan’s glistening descendent..

Blinkered anticipation, hand and wrist primed to grip and flick
The Kingfisher’s flash, the permanent resident’s swirl
Concocted colours masquerade on sharp steel, instinct is convinced
A graceful fight, how diamond shaped nylon must feel on silver Atlantic skin..

Thirst quenched, more produce to consume, treatment plants await
Fertile eggs unknowingly deprived, the magnetic field will try again
The soiled Ocean arithmetic will count one shy
Not enough know the mutual ecstasy of release...
