I am not sad to see
The rose petals fall,
Although, I ought to be.

We wove the threads of friendship
That grew stronger day by day.
That golden chain entwined
Our lives, in a special way.

Sing a song of broken hearts
And you sing a song for me.
Sing a song of shattered dreams
You're still singing in my key.

I welcome these crisp autumn days,
This abundant harvest time.
When boughs are bent with apples,
And pumpkins cling to vines.

You sit upon
My bed each day,
Patiently waiting
For time to play.

My lovely, antique, crystal vase,
Has held many fragrant bouquets.
But, none so elegant, my love,
As the roses it now displays.

The falling rain
Cannot detain
An eager fisherman.
He makes his way

His clothes, a bit shabby,
He has holes in his shoes.
The hat on his head
Looks downright abused.

Brisk autumn winds
Blow swift and cold
Now regal elms
Are dripping gold.

There's a sweet tranquility
In the early morning hours,
When glistening dewdrops
Kiss the waking flowers.
