Pieces

Pieces, all that now is,
of wonderful world
and the soul

Broken bits,
spewn across the fabric of nature
each carries with itself, a joyful sorrow

Colossal chunks,
of emotions and feelings
those bittersweet feelings of emptiness that they bring

So used to,
the fact that broken I am,
by circumstances and people, and will be so
that the beautiful whole mirror
that used to be,
is a far off vision in a dreamt dream.

The sharp edges to hurt,
whence one tries to
unfruitfully, fill the voids

So many voids,
these have become
It looks to be a void of voids

A light inside then squeaks
All is not lost
pieces that they may be

Not unfixable are they
Must you find it,
the glue, the sticky glue

Which can forge again
All that once was
from the emphysmal slices.

Find it, even if I can,
What of the cracks and splinter,
of the ragged edges that don't perfectly ‘lign?

What of the scattered ghost that stares back?
Can change be ever so changing?
Can healing be ever so transient?
Will the repaired be
as good as it once was,
before break, it did?

Nay, as never will the sun set in the east, never to return,
as the owl won't hoot at noon,
nor the rain come down with hate,
It'll never be, as it once was.
