1.

Just as wisdom comes with age,
So does madness in degrees.
The sun rises each morning day,
And darkness falls over the earth each night.

When thou art be free, like pollen dispersed floating at sea
In winter the hills strive, whilst the flowers die
O, poor rose, thy red has turned to dust
Thy stalk has grown brittle
...

...and a new week is upon us,
to what dire end, each the same, all callous.
Evenings and mornings, like chaos and order,
the incessant duality erect as a boulder.

Folly

Just as wisdom comes with age,
So does madness in degrees.
The sun rises each morning day,
And darkness falls over the earth each night.

Showing her your heart will make her leave,
Forsaking you like autumn leaves.
But hey, they form an under growth,
For the next season of leaves.

Ever wondered why the wise peasant dies a noble,
And the foolish nobles die in vain.
Or why the brave die young,
Whilst the cowards live to tell of the late.

How the ants march so orderly
Meanwhile human empires stumble and fall.
How bright and perfect they look in white,
In the pledge of aisle, altar, hymn;
Do so in coal-black abyss- to satisfy their lustful deeds

O folly of follies,
The heart is not satisfied with emotion
Nor the mind filled with thoughts.
Folly of follies, all is folly!
