Luna McLane Poems

Like the stride of a horse the dog runs to it's master.
Faster and faster he runs, eager to get to his side.
His muscles ripple and strain as he dashes threw the rain.
He is a strong creature and some fear for their safety when he passes by, but it is not in his nature to even hurt a fly.
...

The wolf sits alone in a cage, his rage building and swelling within.
As the day slowly goes by, his soul slowly dies.
How he wishes to break out of his chains and be free, but he knows that it will never be.
So everyday, while waiting for his grave, he sits and sings mournful songs.
...

She lays alone in the dark, clutching tightly to her pillow
Tears roll down her face as her body shakes with anxiety and frustration
The sadness engulfs her and devours her tender young soul like a lion ripping at the throat of a lamb
It chokes her into submission and she begins to sob
...

I need your love like a puppy needs love from it's mother
I feel small, vulnerable, and frightened
I cry out for touch like a newborn baby cries out for warmth
I feel scared and I shake like the earth does when it's plates are unsteady

Like the stride of a horse the dog runs to it's master.
Faster and faster he runs, eager to get to his side.
His muscles ripple and strain as he dashes threw the rain.
He is a strong creature and some fear for their safety when he passes by, but it is not in his nature to even hurt a fly.
Even as his master screams, hits, and yells at him for knocking over the garbage bin, he contemplates committing no sin.

One day a fire breaks loose and turns the sky grey.
The dog hears his mater's screams and darts to their direction fast like a flooding stream.
When he runs to the top of a hill he stops, a house stands before him engulfed in flames.
Higher and higher the flames flare, stretching way up into the air.
The dog jumps into the flames and drags his master out of the orange and grey.
As the man gasps and crawls out of harm's way, fire surrounds the dog and blocks his way.
So ended the dog's days.

The owner now mourns the loss of his faithful dog, but he knows that at least it wasn't for nothing that from this earth his dog was taken off.
He died in those flames so his owner could live to see more days.
He didn't die for a pointless thing, no, he died a hero.
He died a hero pit bull, giving his owner life and taking away the reasons for people to hate and cause strife towards dogs of his breed.
