Lengthening shadows were falling
When a spirit voice spoke in my ear:
'Treasure the love you were given....
Love born of a heavenly sphere

What is my purpose, my calling,
Why was I thrust on this plane?
Of what achievements may I boast
When the sun sets on my domain?
...

What cruel force keeps lovers apart....
What keeps them on a separate path?
Not one kiss shared, not one embrace,
What cruel power enforces such wrath?
...

When loneliness calls to the empty heart,
Its echo can be heard by all,
The sound soon reverberates to the soul,
The bitter, painful tears then start to fall
...

I cannot reach nor touch the stars,
Yet I know they dwell high above,
And though you are far from my reach,
Distance cannot weaken this love;
...

He left me waiting, staring at the stars,
Believing he was one of a kind;
He left me waiting, staring at the sun,
Now I know why love is blind
...

O love, don't ask what's coming tomorrow,
What does it matter what the future may bring?
Nor dwell on a past that brought so much sorrow;
Today is the day to let the bells ring!

You must read them by the light of love;
Get comfortable in the arms of a dream,
Pull down a star from above
