Bravely the sun announces night has flown,
Its blinding rays far and wide it casts;
Reluctantly the moon descends its throne.......
Nothing lasts

Never have I loved before
With such burning desire;
Never has anyone stirred in me
This rage of living fire
...

This day has been dragging,
My heart won't stop nagging,
Anxious for night to appear;
Now the moon's on my pillow,
...

It came to me some time last night,
Maybe in a dream, or just a thought,
Our love has been struggling to survive,
But... we both knew it was a long shot
...

The first time he said 'I love you, '
Did he know what these words did?
They sent me down a path of fear,
I sought darkness, where I safely hid
...

You're a mystery to me,
A bird with no wings,
Still, trying to fly,
But you can only sing
...

I'm watching two shadows on the wall,
They're standing very close;
It's a man and a woman facing each other,
He's offering her a rose;
...

I heard the birds this morning,
They awakened me from a dream;
I was sinking in a sea of despair,
Drowning, but I couldn't scream
...

His guitar cries with passion tonight....
The master's been hurt again;
Love died... or made a fool of him,
Now his guitar must bear the pain
...

I watched you as you climbed the hill,
Carrying that cross on your back;
Through it all, I suffered with you,
Watching your gray sky turn black
