And darkness overtakes the day

Today is my day, you won't see me cry,
Let life throw stones at me as it goes by,
I shall not flinch or cry out in pain,
Sadness must retreat, with nothing to gain

I was too busy loving you
To ever notice the signs....
The ice forming on the river,
The snow gathering in the pines
...

For those of you who've had more than your share
Of Life's wrath, I raise my glass of false cheer!
Join me in a toast to Fate, if you dare,
But don't appease it by shedding a tear
...

My love is like a burning fire,
My love is an unchanging flame
That will keep you warm and satisfied,
And will always remain the same
...

How mindlessly on Life's ocean we float,
Practicing deceit, causing tears to fall,
While a witness silently takes note -
Time sees and hears all
...

I'll meet you on the corner,
East of Love and Happiness;
I'm waiting there, so don't be late,
I'm wearing your favorite dress
...

His tender words flowed so sweetly,
Like honey dripping from the comb;
How quickly the seeds of love take root
When they're scattered upon fertile loam
