She sits in the dark, staring at the moon,
A love so fragile died today,
...

I sit here surrounded by four walls
Filled with graffiti and stains,
In the center is a door with a window
Looking out toward the River Seine
...

There was a time when time didn't matter,
The time before I met you;
I never cast a backward glance,
Each day was just time renewed
...

Once again, I'm sailing alone at dusk,
No companion to help rig the mast;
So much pain accrued in my solitude,
The lonely hour approaches fast
...

On nights like this, lonely hearts pray,
Life's meaning loses clarity,
The moon lends a sympathetic ear
And I welcome his charity
...

You wove your web to lure me in,
Drops of honey here and there,
Calling me, enticing me,
'Til finally, I was caught in your snare
...

Last evening, my darling came to me,
Burdened with anguish and fears;
It saddened me to see his pain,
When I kissed him, I tasted tears
...

The sun's work is over, the moon's shift begins,
The sweet smell of jasmine floats on the wind;
Though your heart is breaking, try not to cry,
I'll sing the words softly..... hear my lullaby
...

The evening spills over my garden
Like a tidal wave on the shore;
Beauty shines like the rays of the sun
Through a crack in an old wooden door
...

Come to me when the river rises
And all hope is swept away;
When it crosses the threshold of your heart,
And darkness overtakes the day
...
