Escaping Normalcy

The voice told me to stop writing, so I did.
The voice told me to stop eating so I did.
The voice told me to find home in my sadness, so I did.
I listened to them, because no one else was talking.
The voices on the outside were talking about football games and drinking.
I wanted to know what was there happiest day, what made them feel alive, what it felt like to love for them.
I drank for pain, they drank for fun.
I couldn't relate so I began blending out of the crowds, and I found something in that.
I found myself having a parade for myself, I found myself alone, I found myself more okay than ever.
I found myself not being able to have the conversations, but make new ones.
