Before you turn your back on Christ Jesus,
Take a good long look at His
Bruised and battered, thus was He
Suffering much for our iniquity.
...

God shares His beautiful world with me
Leafy green trees down a winding lane
A rippling brook and meadows green
Leaping trout in a rushing stream
...

Melodies of birds so sweet
Flow gently on the air
Childish voices softly speak
And flowers bloom everywhere

Christ's Death

Before you turn your back on Christ Jesus,
Take a good long look at His
Bruised and battered, thus was He
Suffering much for our iniquity.
See the torn, lacerated, bleeding flesh,
Cut to the bone by the scourging whip.
Feel the thorny crown being pressed deep into his brow.
Know the agony of being nailed to the stake,
And pierced by the point of a spear.
As He breathes his last agonizing breath,
Hear His pleading cry, "Father forgive them,
For they know not what they do."
Can you truly turn your back on one who suffered so much for you?
