When all seems lost, who do I turn to?
When I’ve lost my way, what do I do?
Two faces, both ingrained in my mind, never able to forget
You’re always behind me, your shadow my silhouette
...
You would think I would learn
But I never do, maybe that should be of concern
You would think I would realize
That if I keep after you, this feeling I feel will be my demise
...
Little jailbird trying to fly
Taking one day at a time, just trying to get by
Held back by the chains that surrounds you
You cry out for help too
...
I'm currently a junior in high school so there is not much to me. Writing is something I love to do, whether it is a random story or a really bad poem. I'm experimenting with poetry (or trying to at least) and I just want to get some feedback.)
Torn
When all seems lost, who do I turn to?
When I’ve lost my way, what do I do?
Two faces, both ingrained in my mind, never able to forget
You’re always behind me, your shadow my silhouette
I’m torn
And with every waking dawn
I’m thrust into oblivion as I try to figure out what is being said, what is being heard
Nothing has ever made me feel this way, it has to be absurd
And yet I’m still torn, unable to repair
As I’m floating on air
Unable to ignore, unable to forget
And none of it I regret
I’m torn
