Simple things are always the most pleasant.I read this poem many times and I think it is written beautifully because we seldom come across a poem that marries simplicity in form with depth in meaning. It is the kind of poems that speak to the minds and tingle the hearts with a mild tone of sorrow.

Hughes makes the world real. We can talk about stratification or xenophobia all we want but we'll never really know how it feels. And I think he bring something to us in his poetry. And I certainly adore that about him

I read Hughes's poem 'Snail' when I feel like noone knows who I am and it makes me feel so much better. I also like his poem 'Little Green Tree' because it makes life seem so much more fun! Thank-you for being so good to me Hughes.

His poem 'Dreams' is one of my favourite poems, it is short and very effective in conveying the message.

Still Here

been scared and battered.
My hopes the wind done scattered.
Snow has friz me,
Sun has baked me,

Looks like between 'em they done
Tried to make me

Stop laughin', stop lovin', stop livin'--
But I don't care!
I'm still here!
