Kevin Moore Poems

Stone by stone we build
these walls around our hearts while
love's last tears still dry.
...

The little girl wears blue galoshes - shiny
and fun in any weather - but they do not
match the sadness in her heart of tiny
sorrows sewing shadows long ago forgot.
...

Had I told you how my feelings, then, would last
for you (a forest fire burns so hot!) ,
words - wasted - would be echoes in my past
...

Time.
Just a moment wrapped inside an instant
measured only by what was or was not
done…
...

Hanging silent in the sky
above a concrete earth,
sightless electrons lensed
green, yellow, red (timed flow)
...

Concrete and steel on all compressing,
Impassive stares on soul depressing,
A caustic dark sunlight repressing:
Welcome to Baltimore.
...

This path I’ve trod
(writ long before my birth)
meanders and seems somewhat
aimless at times - even painful
...

The mighty blue Montana sky at dawn
explodes across the plain with tidal force
in unabated, pounding waves of light
to roar unchecked along its westward course-
...

I took with me an angel
through the autumn of the empty  -
arching summons bounding high  -
purple, orange and red in plenty
...

My poetry my life, my blood the ink
I stain these unmarked pages with, my past
the well from which I draw my art (don't think,
just breathe the words as though they may not last) ,
...

Twas bitter, then - and bitter, still -
and thrill the ears! came clamored trill
of mother’s unsheathed whimpered will
amidst the shattered bedclothes and
...

(Outside)
Rain plays softly against the window glass
a lullaby in A minor,
sings its song of comforting to old men
...

The trees are giant candelabra
suspended from the sky and
made of spun glass; moonlight reaches
down through them to touch the earth
...

She is nameless and forgotten-
among the vermin, waiting- small
and frightened and tired, afraid of what
tomorrow may bring home.
...

In my dreams you are always by my side
and I can almost touch you (but not quite) .
I can see that sparkle in the windows to
your soul, nearly taste your lips against mine -
...

shining far from me her inner beauty

radiates a challenge to the sun and moon
...

My past a rushing flow which unchecked winds
a twisting path from mind through heart to page -
and though a mighty link to what was binds,
chain’s craftsmanship shows artistry with age.
...

Vixen! Thou hast bewitched my very heart
and taken unto thyself my soul
quietly. Stay you within my thoughts and
my desires a constant; pray, thee
...

I walked along a well blazed path and
came upon the barn -
seen earlier from field afar
its stand midst trees in splendid dress
...

Struck down and tumbled out upon
this land as though from Annwyn felled -
a Guardian for us Travelers born
of middle Earth midst season Rites -
