My Darkest Night

You wrecked my world, you took what was mine
In a real-life horror, my Columbine

Why does this killer inherit such fame?
When she's just a number, a ghost with no name

Over a dozen died on that date in July
Deprived of life, too young to die

How could you do this? It hardly seems fair
What a sinister script, my worst nightmare

You played the villain, you caused such strife
Such little regard for human life

You unleashed your fury, let bullets fly
And robbed me of my last goodbye

But this ain't no movie, it's all too real
I bare the scars that will never heal

I often remember, sit and ponder
Her absence makes my heart grow fonder

Why did you take her when others live?
A cruel twist of fate, yet I'm meant to forgive?

So many questions, so much to answer
I've no means of escape, I'm ill with cancer

Ease my suffering, relieve my pain
Give me my big bang, let me rise again

For this tunnel is dark, I can see no light
I just cannot forget my darkest night
