In life, we strive to be the best
To do our best towards others
Achieving this double is never easy
When anger, simmers beneath
...

So many faces, passing through my head
Faces old, faces gone, faces new
One stands out above them all
A kind face, a loving face, your face
...

Have you ever asked yourself
What reason do I have to rise today
If you have, here is a good reason
Someone special is in need of your help
...

Mother Earth, she tries her best
Yet still we rape her, surely thats incest
Uncontrolled, the harm we are doing
Nobody cares, so we carry on screwing
...

I remember my old Dublin
The Snug Bars, the Cafeterias
No Wine Bars and Coffee Houses
Yes, she has had a few face lifts
...

The Nightstalker, he comes
With him, comes the fear
He seeks memories, best forgotten
Locked away, safe, hidden
...

Standing alone at shores edge
I stare out to sea
A distant horizon enchants me
It holds me, in its hypnotic embrace
...

Nature, she is silent, yet she speaks
To understand her words
You must study her language
It is a language of sensory perception
...

At me Granny Duffy's, I used to stay a lot
I loved all the aromas, from her cooking pot
On McKee Ave, that's where her cottage was
People stopped at her gate just to chat and pause
...

I joined the boy scouts with my twin
For merit badges I thought I could win
Tying knots, could barely tie my shoes
That badge thing, it was no boat cruise
...

Words can be curt, words can be kind
If you cant hear them, they can be signed
Where would we be, without letters to form
Communication apocalypse, would be norm
...

Ghosts pursue me inside my head
They seek out my hiding place
In frightening screams they howl
Trying to scare me into confrontation
...

There are days, that just pass by
And others, when we sore on a carpet
Woven from joy and good feeling
Then days, when dark clouds gather
...

Fiddle, Bodhran, and Tin Whistle unite
Against Uilleann, Guitar, and Banjo they fight
Their battle cries, form a strange melody
It's chaos uniting, in a musical harmony
...

They slap themselves on the back
Them, you know, the political hack
...

She left, to go on her journey
Her silhouette fading from sight
Shadows connect us now
And memories, of past laughter
...

When at my most vulnerable
Was when she chose to strike
Pocking at sores I thought hidden
Infecting them with a wicket tongue
...

Engagement ring promises are made
May love that's given, never fade

Two lovers hearts, now all aglow
...

Her smile tracks me across the room
My heart beats faster, I smile back
A bridge of sight is now built
We cross, to meet in the middle
...

For years I have watched you
Your slim stature, tall and proud
The queen of all you survey
And still my admiration for you grows
...

The Best Poem Of Ken Duffy

Anger And Frustration

In life, we strive to be the best
To do our best towards others
Achieving this double is never easy
When anger, simmers beneath

We try not give into the anger
But some things, are unavoidable
Problems catch us up, taking control
Manifesting themselves into low self esteem

Don't give up on that person inside
The one that lady luck passed by
That person still wants to be the best
And do their best, for others
