Kayode Lagbayi Poems
In This Life
In this life You have to strive for what you want Nothing is easy, Even a common death
Letter To My Best Friend
My darling friend I count on you Because you define our friendship When we run into life
My Thought and I
Hanging on her wings Soaring with her around the world A beautiful palace I see, Where a throne has been waiting
Miles afar I travelled Searching for the precious But the one I found is you My heart a safe I keep it,
In his generousity it arrays Many gift of life unfold A possession of its personal heritage That coheres with peace and love
What…? A long thought of youth The memories of years And the looking back
Time Will Tell
Streaking down my eyes Quite tears of night; In desolation and solitude, Furtively waited a hostility
In the world of two hearts Those mingle as one Co-exist the trio: One is trust, other is faith,
With mountains a steep abide, And ocean unplumbed a deep Nothing I behold as deep as faith; None are heights as high as it.

In this life
You have to strive for what you want

What worries man's mind;
Is not what he has but what he wants.
What he wants is not a treat,
But how to get it.
Think for a major
And say no to minor
For what you think all days
Is what you are.
Never major in minor
A minor is dangerous.
I am not what I am,
When I see where I am.
What I want to be
Does nothing with where I am.
Oh my gosh!
Oh my goodness!
I can be there!
I know I ...
