Giving Up

Give up,
people tell me this all the time.
He broke up with you for a reason,
he no longer loves you.
Give up.
Ha,
give up isn't in my vocabulary.

I'll never give in,
give up,
loose faith,
loose hope,
good luck convincing me.

I still love him and I always will,
nothing in the world can stop me.
You can try,
but you're wasting your time.
I can say that I hate him,
but then I'd be lying.

I never would have hung up the phone that day if I had known it would lead to this.
I wish you were here,
I wish I could go back in time and change all the mistakes I made.
I wish we could go back and remember all the good things.

You always said sorry,
even when it wasn't your fault.
I'm sorry.
You said the day before that you loved me too much to break up.
I was so happy that you said that,
but I guess that meant nothing to you.

Remember me,
standing in a nice dress,
staring at the sunset,
rosy cheeks and a big smile.
Meant only for you.

Flowers used to bloom when we passed by,
but now they shrivel up and die in our presence.
A sun used to set to a perfect day,
but now darkness encaves us,
until I can no longer see you,
and you disappear before my very eyes.

So telling me to give up is a waste of breath.
I never will,
and I don't want to,
because that means I'll forget.
I'll forget how much I loved you,
I'll forget how much you loved me.
I'll forget everything.
I'll loose hope and I don't want to.

So just try to tell me to give up.
It won't work,
it never will,
I love him too much to give up on him.
I will always love him,
no matter what.
