The Last Time.......

The last time i saw my dad,
it was a regular day. i sat at
the table, my mom sat near,
sternly gazing at the paper i held,
my father approached,
made no eye contact,
his voice shook unsteadily, as he
asked my mom to follow,

somethings wrong, i know
it is, his voice has never
been so shaky

They walked outside,
as i sat there, waiting
for them to return

I never expected what happened next,
the scream that could shake a house,
both came running in, one after
another, screaming and
yelling throughout,
i dash upstairs,
sit at the top,
and listen and wait for the end,

But somethings wrong, i know
it is, I can hear it in his voice

The door slams, and a
car engine roars, there's
nothing else to say,
i come downstairs, to find
him gone, never to
come back again

i will never forget his uneasy voice,
and the anger that stays in that house
