The fresh smell of rain,
So thick, and so sweet,
I feel the rain on my face,
And the wind on my skin,
...

When they said love was beautiful,
I didn’t know they meant this.
Tests occur daily in this class,
But, we seem to be passing.
...

The earth turns,
The world wakes,
The dew shines,
Ever-changing is life,
...

As the sun rises, I feel my heart lift,
At the end of the night, the sorrow has left.
Hundreds of days, every one amazing,
Leaving those deep in soul, full of feeling.
...

The world turns slowly,
Time comes to a stop,
The rain hangs in midair,
Not a single plop.
...

The sun shines on the cold, white, snow,
It spring through my blinds, and my room starts to glow,
I got out of bed, and walked out the door,
And walked right outside, unknowing of what’s in store,
...

I squint through my goggles and I see shimmering water. I see sand below and the brilliant sun above. I see something dark flash by up ahead.
I hear the steady swish of my flippers. I hear the bubbling of my tank. I hear something-big move behind me.
I smell the fear in my sub-marine sweat. I smell the silent thickness, in its entire dastardly odor. I smell the aroma of pure oxygen.
I taste the saltwater entering my mouth. I taste blood as I slip in and out of consciousness. I taste the rotten flesh of the creature’s tentacle.
...

The end is nearing on the wings of a sparrow,
Time is hanging on the very edge of existence,
Life slips into the abyss of aching,
No one can catch a glimpse of your sadness,
...

It beats faster,
The pulse is deranged,
Hate rings through it’s chambers,
Lies flow like blood,
...

Hell is welcome,
Death is wished,
Torture begged for,
Control has ceased,
...

Hi there, Outside world,
It's been a while, you see.
I've missed you lots, and tons, and much,
And we all know you've missed me.
...

I've been there, So constant.
But you aren't here, Go figure.
You're always so sad, I can't help.
I'm always so sad, You won't try.
...

I looked all around, and what did I see?
Myself from every direction.
But on one of the walls, something was changed;
I could see the reflection of a long-lost friend.
...

A day on the sea,
An hour on the land,
A minute by your side,
A second in your hand.

K.N. Sheldon Biography

After birth, it didn't take long for me to fall in love with poetry. I never considered myself a poet, and I still don't. I love to write, but, my works aren't nearly good enough to be considered great, or even good. But, I love reading other's poetry, and I always see the best in all forms. I also love to write reviews, or just tell people my thoughts on their poetry.)

The Smell Of Rain

The fresh smell of rain,
So thick, and so sweet,
I feel the rain on my face,
And the wind on my skin,
The fat drops are chilling,
And send shivers down my spine,
I close my eyes and raise my head toward the clouds,
So young and so restless, and so full of life,
So calm and collected, as the wind speaks to me,
Telling me of life, and of sorrow, of love, and of joy,
Of many things, both amazing and sad,
Of so many answers, I wish I had had,
Of hopefulness, and of uncertainty,
The wind goes away,
But I still hear its voice,
And the fresh smell of rain,
So thick and so sweet,
Leaves my world once again,
To help someone else.
