Justin Woods Poems

On a fine Saturday afternoon
in the month of November
A boy sat and wished for June
and all of its splendor.
...

When the day is done,
all the battles fought,
all the races run,
we sit and think
...

The older love gets the less it has to say.

It doesn't stop speaking.
...

If I had a 100 words,
Oh the things I’d say.
Of love, hope and happiness
Of a girl who shines brightly each day.
...

An old man lays there,
With his family gathered round.
He wonders if it's time to rest,
And be buried in the ground.

Nostalgia

On a fine Saturday afternoon
in the month of November
A boy sat and wished for June
and all of its splendor.

He thought of playing on the beach
with all of his friends around
He thought of eating a nice big peach
before it spoiled and turned brown.

He thought and wished and thought
until his thoughts ran dry
Then he stopped and looked above him
at a hole of bright blue sky.

What is the point of wishing,
he thought, for things passed away,
When life is still worth living,
and there's a beautiful day to be had today? !
