Lead Feather

This crushing pain with hopeful exuberance
A lead feather settles on the heart
Pressing heavy now but with promise
To again become lighter than air.

Questions riddle the soul
Who is to blame
Any, all,
How much torment could have been saved long ago?

Should kindness expect
To be returned with kindness
No, not in this world
Is this love alone.....? No....

Joy! There is another soul
Self less, loving
Compassionate, joyful
A jewel, an angel

Like light
To a moon drenched flower
Spring to life
God knew what was missing

Water needs a vessel
And a vessel
Serves no purpose
If it has no water to hold

The feather
Blows weightlessly away
Until it rest on
Another heart, Another day
