Jordan Millar Poems

To all of you girls, who sit there in pain
Who gambled their life with nothing to gain,
Who opened the door, let the wrong guy in,
Whose only intention was destruction and sin
...

You message me, and I reply
You don't reply, please tell me why
Why do I try, while you pass me by,
Sitting here and wishing to die
...

You can call it summer, or whatever you like
The girls with the jump rope, a boy on his bike
You can look into the sky, and see a blinding sun
But for me winter's here, and it is not done
...

I don't know you, and we don't speak
You don't come to me when all seems bleak
But today that changes and this is no more
No matter who you are, I'm an open door
...

They say nothing lasts, not the earth or the sky
They say you'll never reach, so don't aim so high
They say you can't make it, so why even try?
Well I'm here to say, that that's all a lie
...

Many years ago in a far and distant land
There was a war of two mighty kingdoms
Each side fought valiantly until they could no more
And like sand they both crumbled under the waves of the shore
...

Sure, build a wall, let's keep em all out
But no wall is high enough to silence their shout
The cry for justice and the plea for good
Their demand for fairness to be the way it should
...

A favourite place isn't defined by what's built or what's there
But by the good times and the memories in this spot that we share
It's about the laughter and smiles that we once planted here
The experiences and the joy that we consider so dear

To All You Girls

To all of you girls, who sit there in pain
Who gambled their life with nothing to gain,
Who opened the door, let the wrong guy in,
Whose only intention was destruction and sin
Who liked your picture, and gave you that high,
That you never came down from till he said goodbye,
But by then, it was done, and he needed no more,
You gave him the key and he walked through that door.
You thought he was great, looked good at a glance,
So good in fact, you gave more than a chance,
You gave him your all, and never looked back,
Kept your eyes on him and off of the attack,
The assault that took place at your front door,
When you forgave him 1 time,2 time,3 time,4
But it was never enough, it never came to an end,
Each time another scar that you can never mend.
Stop making this mistake, giving into the game,
You weren't meant to win, that's why it's always the same
Until you make the difference, you take a stand,
Pick yourself up, without the help of his hand
