Betrayed in the garden by a traitor's kiss.

Hoping my failings will escape your detection! !

How often have I laughed to hide
The torment that I felt inside?
You must have watched the tears subside
As one by one my dreams have died.

I've measured my life out with Buddy Holly tunes
And pints of beer, and even coffee spoons,
I've prayed somebody would return my love,
I've prayed to the Devil Himself, and to the Lord Above!

I gave you my friendship in all its innocence,
You took it and trampled it in the dust,
Later they called an ambulance,
You had desecrated my love and my trust.

Did Jesus look you in the eyes?
The Gospel is a pack of lies.
Everything's a compromise.

You walk alone,
Your clothes are made of saffron
And your face of stone,

These poor villians,
Breathing in the nuclear air,
And destroyed by the poetry of Caesar,
Remember a time

What can you say of folk today
Who worship gods with feet of clay?
Their hearts are blind and their minds are numb
As they chew the nation's chewing-gum,
