John Hazon Palen Poems

I am on the passenger side,
Daydreaming to the sky
The day's bright and full of life.. then
In a mile, I caught your sight
...

- Original Composition of Bertha Adams Backus -

Build for yourself a strong box,
Fashion each part with care;
Put all your troubles there;
Hide there all thought of your failures,
...

You don't mean everything to me anymore
Not like the way it was ever before
Talk to the tears dropping on the floor
And tell me what you find and what's it for.
...

I asked God for strength, that I
...might achieve
I was made weak, that I might learn
...humbly to obey...
...

I miss our firefly-catching days
Fighting dragons for us were games
Wish I could go back then and stay
But all i can do for now is pray
...

6.

Summer after high school, I recall
You're beautiful, my eyes rolled
The time we met by the low sunset,
All things in life then went great
...

The air's light while moon shines bright.
I'm quite fine tonight.
Suddenly, things ain't they seemed.
Lights around gleam dim.
...

Somewhere in Southern Leyte
Where a happy family stays,
They're there for more than decade;
Love in between can't fade.
...

You with the sad eyes
don't be discouraged
oh I realize
it's hard to take courage
...

I knew it when I saw you,
And I call it fate.
In this one-way street, we met.
Everything feels great.
...

The sun and moon do high-five
Whenever we meet,
Frozen I would be in time.
This I must admit.
...

Right in this new dawn’s breaking,
I pray just one thing:
Hopefully from the dreaming,
Souls get awakened.
...

The rain tonight ain’t stopping.
Cold winds are blowing.
I’ll leave my window open.
Thoughts about you come burning..
...

My classmate for two years time,
Ordinary guy…
But now something in his eyes,
Makes me feel inspired!
...

Once upon a time when I caught your eye,
Thoughts of you has clouded up my mind.
You're bright to me like flames of stars,
Planets might see magic in my heart.
...

Back then you swore this stage was your place.
But now you wish to make days change,
Her name's in each of your journal's page;
The night you danced haunts you always...
...

The way's hard thru seas with playful waves.
It's like you can't be any brave.
Everything around slows your pace,
But this poem's made to give you faith.
...

The rain outside now hides the stars.
This evening's in stark.
It's quite heavy atmosphere,
How I wish you're here.
...

The story starts while summer,
When I got back here.
I used to be having fears;
Now it's crystal-clear…
...

I went looking for reasons!
Knew not what I'd find.
I tried outside the line but,
It's dark all season.

John Hazon Palen Biography

I started hearing songs which first introduced me to poetry as well when I was five.. Then my father bought us this small book of poetry when I was then a fourth-grader. I love singing, too. But it wasn't given any focused attention because my mom wants us to have a bright future by focusing on our studies.. well, in modesty aside, I always achieved top rank honors in school and competitions, as well. My intense desire to compose poems burned brighter when I happened to get wonderstruck by a Superstar.. I think I was also influenced by my mama who, with her soft, warm touches, speak words in an amazing way. My papa, he's just the greatest living hero that ever was. 4/19/2012 Anyone could have his works published, and eventually earn some money. Yes, right? But the more important thing is when you're inspiring other people. I hope I can inspire others thru my works.; '))

The Best Poem Of John Hazon Palen

Daydreamer

I am on the passenger side,
Daydreaming to the sky
The day's bright and full of life.. then
In a mile, I caught your sight

My heart starts beating triple times
The thing that I don't know why
And the bus stopped for a while
Not long you're in the seat behind

The music starts playing love songs
I get notion to have conversation
I love your eyes put in my direction,
I find my heart set in motion

We talk and talk while the road seems stretched,
The time runs slow till I reached my place
All was fantasy, I never noticed,
You wake me up, all eyes on my face.

(I wrote this poem from an experience when I was in a bus and caught sight of another passenger who had me wonderstruck! Well, other than that, I also have a deeper meaning with this poem!)
