Jill Burns Poems

I held the candle,
warm and bright
I sat it down and walked away,
leaving the light
...

Glory to yourself!
I know you all to well

Roll your eyes and fake a smile,
...

His eyes used to glow,
his smile was brilliant

How could we know that his smile would fade,
...

So we've found a way to pass our time,
we write down every random rhyme
And we always pretend that we're all right,
when we're not fine,
...

I can't break this wall,
this solitude is breaking me
And I know I'm starting to fall,
but can you even see me?
...

Your shallow heart won't beat in time with mine,
but our paths always seem to intertwine

Your demons work against you,
...

Sing a song of bitter indulgence
Then ring the bell,
saying sorry for your incompetence
...

She was one too smart to fool,
confidence was her tool

She roams the world in search of one she must dual,
...

I lurk in the shadows and feed while they sleep,
I take their life so fast that they don't even have time to weap

Their blood enters my body like a flood of neverending life,
...

The pain that I feel,
increases with the bruises that will not heal
And the pain that I've been forced to conceal has turned to hate,
the one thing I can still feel
...

You don't believe in me,
though you have recieved my plea

As long as I stay on the ground and don't make a sound,
...

In the deepest forest of my dreams
people weap and I can hear their screams,
but this forest isn't as it seems
...

I have feelings, you know?
And with you they always grow

But I have to go, I'm sorry
...

Who cares for the one,
one who bleeds for their fun
the one who is lost to the sun
...

15.

Your memory has faded into the distance
To remember your face, I almost need assistance

But what is left within the mist of my cloudy mind
...

Jill Burns Biography

I am currently sixteen and a Junior in high school. I started writting short stories in fifth grade and I got into writting poems a few months ago. Reading my poetry, remember that I write when I'm upset and I really am very happy with life. I just love to write about things that are bothering me. Most of the time I write about my past or issues in the present. I really enjoy writting to get rid of thoughts and feelings that will eat away at me otherwise.)

The Best Poem Of Jill Burns

Fatalist

I held the candle,
warm and bright
I sat it down and walked away,
leaving the light

The objects that lay in my way,
are still blurry and grey
And the reasons behind them,
are still dark as night

I sat fire to the path made for me,
showing them the wrath they were so willing to see

Many create their own fate,
living in hate
And those who don't,
don't because they won't

Making your own life creates pain,
and sometimes you get to a point where you're preying for rain
And you know you'll always ask yourself...
Is there anything to gain?

But this is what I chose,
and to the world, it shows
and where it'll end, nobody knows
