Jess Cadman Poems

Wings made of the most delicate silver
A body as fragile as glass
Their faces depicted in children’s stories,
...

Love is like a suicide mission
And if it’s what I need to do
Just to win you
I’d die a thousand times over
...

To fall down the stairs
To jump off a cliff
To stab or shoot myself
Whatever the way
...

If I had to list all the reasons
Why you’re the one I love
Why you’re the one who’s given me
All I ever dared to dream of...
...

When you walk into a room
A smile creeps up on my face
Spreading from ear to ear
And butterflies tickle inside me.
...

Sharp tears flow down my face
Eye-to-eye I stand with death
Disfigured by his gruesome breath
...

Life was depicted in a black and white state
My mind was constantly in a depressive condition
Suicide was on my weekly to do list,
But all that changed when you came along
...

I thought love like this was just a myth
As rare as an enchanted nymph
I don’t think I could ever measure
The love I have for you, my treasure
...

What is this mess? Where is this place?
With the landscape dominated by death and destruction
With no hope of a future and reconstruction
What is this place, of which I cannot face?
...

10.

Beauty flourishes within us
Like an April flower
Faces depicted in a crowd
Making him upstairs very proud
...

11.

Situated high up in the night sky
A star doth twinkle very bright
Enchanted by the soul of those past on
This is no tale so I am told
...

12.

Hope is something that only we can bring
It’s not something to be worn like bling
Hope comes in all shapes and forms
It isn’t something that can be seen
...

Things keep going round in my head
I can’t seem to drag myself out of bed
And I don’t know what to do
Feeling low and no where but down to go,
...

Lie still
Hold your position
Don’t move until the signal is given
Hold firmly onto your weapon
...

Fairies

Wings made of the most delicate silver
A body as fragile as glass
Their faces depicted in children’s stories,

A myth made up of belief and hope
The power source to their existence,

They ride on child’s whispers and chants
Flying from day-dream to day-dream

Some may say they live in stories
Others may say they live in dreams
But I say they live in the bottom of my garden.
