Summer Night

The darkness of the sea is not cold
It lives placidly in my mind
The depth of the sky, and its stars offer the horizon of thoughts
That can only come, sometimes
The crushing foam hits with guided strength
It ponders up the sand a way, slips back again
Its mellow echo reaches a point of consciousness
The soft sand cushions my feelings
That summer air is like no other
Its subtle vitality composes me
I drift through my thoughts
By the ocean on a summer night
