Jake Deeds Poems

Two hearts beating, one warm one cold
How will this romance ever unfold
How will the passion ever be told
For the love of God please grant me one wish
...

I've spanned the edges of echelon's ledges
And languished the austere abyss
From the hue of grey's obscurity
And time's eternal perpetuity
...

On top of the mountain and beside the stream
Where the switchbacks converged and split the seam
And the eddies swirled and churned moonbeams
I fell in love within a dream……
...

The moon hung at half mast
And frowned upon the frozen ground
The passage to the perilous past
Where silence sealed the sound…
...

The Space Between

You are always there…
When I need a wonderful friend
...

Solitary

The night comes surely...
And wickedly so as the clock
...

The old grey goose no longer sings

As he falls from grace and flings his wings

And flings his wings to no avail
...

Has love been lost on falls' first frost
And the sadness, remember, the days of December
Fear not, the cusp of winds, for renewal begins
And the shadows of moon reign in June
...

Oh, where does the sweet sunshine show
Through the cold clouds dreary drab
These visions of tropical rehab
Keep me warm in winter's throe
...

Loneliness is a pyroclastic flow of emotion
with a low flashpoint...only ceasing upon self consumption...
...

Sometimes....It is not the mountains
in front of you that hinder the path....
but the mountains within you....
...

Deep inside a silent slumber
Out and beneath the uncut lumber
The ebb and flow of a divine breeze
While lying on a bed of leaves
...

I watch..in silence..as you dance for me
Your movements..fluid..like water around
the slalom of rocks
And you dance...
...

My bare steps straddle Honua Kai
With emerald greens and frothy white
That merge into one neither land nor sea
And a warm wind whispers as day welcomes night
...

The line sailed through the air in reconnaissance
and somewhat suspended above the noise of silence
depositing its' offering only to be declined
Rejection, again, and again, and again
...

Imagination's Pirouette

Applause and passion for the perfect pirouette
One hundred fold the story’s told
...

The evolution of revolutions have left my line a fray
But to reverse the seasons would surely be treason
Does not the sun shine for apparent reason
... If only a way to slay the gray
...

The fallen leaves run wildly from the wind
With the two exhausting in tandem
And they rest…
Both weary from the bitter cold
...

Where the writhing vines grow tall
And the willows wail and weep
Up a weathered old rock wall
The reflection calls to deep
...
