j.c. monterrosa Poems

I burn with flames that lick my soul,
A once proud core doused in malaise,
Lust and knowledge forever clashing,
Melting in the blaze…
...

Kaleidoscope
I was all of maybe five years old
And everyone was there for me,
...

Rays of sunshine light the streets
As people scurry back and forth;
My thoughts remain outdoors …
...

More Than Ever
...

5.

Cold, alone
dark and howling wind
rustling leaves and shifting spirits
rain pitter pattering
...

caged within this world we share
with boundless seas,
endless earth,
...

fire touches skin
and smoke from burning flesh
rises up above, tickling my nose,
forcing me to frown.
...

listen to the words that echo
through the walls of your beating heart;
ripples of the blessings cast upon you,
words that clothe you with angelic grace…
...

the words to say how much I loved you
are nowhere near my tongue
I kneel before you now in silence
To bathe your spirit with my tears
...

10.

Alone
...

Spoken like a silent prayer,
your eyes call me to you;
silver tongued, we justify
with broken words and broken truths,
...

Goodbye
...

Hearbeat

Zephyr

I burn with flames that lick my soul,
A once proud core doused in malaise,
Lust and knowledge forever clashing,
Melting in the blaze…

Heart and spirit intertwined,
Fueled by passion, loving blind
Hungry words from your tongue drip
My solace found between your lips…

Warm and gentle words caress me,
the stoking breeze of long ago,
heal me now and stop this bleeding,
Fill me with your amber glow…

Crisp in callused winter gray
My waking thoughts slay every dream,
Rouse me with your westward winds,
Save me with your heart sublime,
Show me love your way…

Love is no weakness... yet, weakness we feel when we love. But that's not all... You see, your poems are inspiring to others too. Romantic, yet grounded.
