Paradise In Death

A soldier dying takes his last breath,
A new widow weeping softly.
Death comes,
Arms outstretched,

Cradling him in her arms
She whisks him away,
Holding him tight to her breast.
She arrives in her realm

Death grabs a crystal vial,
Uncorks it,
Putting a single dropp
Of liquid in his mouth.

He stands up, looks around,
Goes away to paradise.
Where all good men find reward.
