Today sitting here, on a faraway land,
Away from mild, and that white sand,
I remember her....

Today sitting here, somewhere faraway,
Away from home, hopes and dismay,
I remember her....

She was not much for me then,
Though I was not anything,
I was not in the glittering glen,
Nor in my heart lied a fling,

But time generates, time creates,
It's time the master of all,
Time destroys, time decimates,
And so it has for me....

Maybe someday a wish will burn throughout the night skies,
In that mild and scented air in which her aroma flies,

A classmate of mine,
A lanky girl with glasses on,
It was just that time,
Though I died, life goes on.

I too didn't know her well,
Nor did she know me,
Who could now go and tell,
Whole of this story,

By this time of spring maybe,
I have been long forgotten,
Though there is nothing wrong,
For my days are done,

She may not realize who I am,
I perfectly remember her,
A canvas so perfect been painted,
Even with time sans go blur,

There is not much left,
Which by word can be expressed,
I am done and so are days,
Nascent die who are blessed,

She too dies with me today,
And I die with her again,
Each dawn we wake up born,
Nothing will be same again...
